The original or the remake?

Which version of The Manchurian Candidate did you like better - the original or the remake? Personally, I think both of them were really well done but I really like the way that the original was shot as it was done in black and white.

I haven't seen the older version but I really enjoyed the new one. I thought it was a great story - and a bit frightening too. I hate watching black and white films so I probably would like the newer one better. I hate that Clerks is in black and white. It drives me nuts.

I am a sucker for old black and white movies. I really liked the way that Clerks was done. I agree - the premise of the movie is somewhat frightening! Thanks for the response =)

I liked the older version better. You did not have the idea that Marco was on a campaign. He was an ordinary soldier with ordinary problems, and did not look like someone who was out of get someone because of his background. The new investigator was Black and the villain was White, so it appeared as if it was the case of "we are the moral good guys" going against the evil white man. Also the idea of the first one, of winning an election to start a dictatorship is scary. Wasn't that the way, that Hitler got control of Germany?
