Why don't people follow instructions!!!!

When I sell stuff on ebay, I only accept payment via paypal or direct deposit. I clearly state this in the item listing. Plus, its displayed on the checkout page when I send the invoice. So why do people think they can ignore this and send me cheques? I don't accept cheques because I don't have time to go to the bank! So I'm sending this idiot his cheque back, because he didn't bother to read instructions. The thing that sucks, is he will most likely leave me negative feedback or not want to complete the transaction. GRR!!!!!!! It makes me so mad!!!

People are idiots, plain and simple. they jump into things without reading all the rules and regulations. Then they think that because they made a mistake the seller will make and exception for them. It does drive me nuts, but I would do the same as you. I would tell them that is clearly states in the auction lsiting that PayPal is the only form of payent accepted. Whenever I use the buy it now feature for selling I require immediate payment via PayPal. The only way they can complete the transaction is through payPal, and until they complete the payment through PayPal, the auction is still live. I really hate the issues with feedback and I really can't stand retalitory feedback. I think they need to figure out a way to revamp the feedback system to not allow retalitory feedback.

My suggestion for feedback, if a dispute is involved it gets recorded on their feedback page. eg. Dispute filed (date) - non paying bidder or something to that effect. It just makes me so mad! It's good to have a vent every now and then!

Yea.. i'm selling in eBay too, and although the Terms and Conditions are clearly written, i do get buyers getting back to me after buy it now, asking me to reduce the postage. Well, the discounts are all in the auctions. And i'm shipping from Malaysia. they should read clearly before buying anything in eBay and if you think the price is not reasonable, you can always buy from someone else...

I have this problem on Ebay too Some people are just really stupid and can't read even though I have my payment options in big letters. No matter what you will always get someone along the line that wants you to make an exception for them and I will always say no to them. Checks have bounced too many times for me from people and I have had to pay the fees from my bank for them so I will never accept a check again

I've never had one bounce, but with a baby and 2 jobs, when am I meant to go to the bank? People need to realise theres a reason why sellers restrict what payment methods they accept!!

Some people NEVER read the terms and conditions, I get exactly the same problem with buyers.

Although I try to read through everything before placing a bid, I'm guilty of missing info like that a couple of times. Once I remember I was looking at cloth diapers. I had like a dozen auctions saved and ended up bidding on one that was paypal only when I didn't have paypal funds available. As soon as I realized my mistake I contacted the lady to see if we could work something out or if she preferred waiting a couple of days (I pay my auctions the minute I know I won them) for me to get money into my account. We were able to reach an agreement that worked for both of us. Sometimes it's just an oversight on the bidders part and contacting them can sort it out.
