Why do many people attemp to climb the Mount Everest?

Whats in this people? Just recently there's this ordinary guy from the Philippines who made it to the top of the Mt. Everest. Afterwards he became famous. Another grup of Filipinas are now preparing a climb for this famous mountain. But why? As of 2006 reecords, for every 10 successful attempts to climb Mt. Everest, there is one fatality.
If you would be given a chance guys, would you also risk your life and spend money fr a trip to Mt. Everest?

I guess this is one way for them to be recognized and to have their spot in this big world. After all for all I know, there isn't a single female Asian that has succeede in doing this. If these people achieve this, it is a new record that cannot be broken, "being the first" can not be broken. And for sure, if they succeed, the president is sure to give some amount for this achievement, there will be offers ,etc...

I really do not understand why people enjoy climbing mountains at all, especially Mt. Everest. I think they do it for the fame and recognition. They want to be popular because they climbed this awesome mountain. Many people find it to be a challenge which many people enjoy challenges like this. I would not do it as it is very dangerous and would not risk my life over a mountain. I would love to see what it looks like in person but am not climbing any mountains.

i think they have a dream in there mind to climb it and to earn money by becoming the famous.well i does not about these peple but i thinks that they have passion to climb it so they climb it.
