I use a lot of rice as a side dish for a lot of the foods I end up preparing. I find there are a variety of different ones you could prepare rice to make it taste rather delicious. I enclosed two recipes below that I have made for me & my other half for dinner either as a side dish. Or if we we're even to tired to cook we'd sometimes just eat the rice on our own. I hope if you try out these recipes that you can see why they are such 'good rice recipes.' Thanks for allowing me to share! xx "Fried Rice." Ingredients are as follows: - 4 cups of cooked white rice, all cooled - 6 tablespoons of oil - 3 eggs - 1 teaspoon of salt - 1/2 of a cup of shrimp, shelled & rice - 1/2 of a cup of cooked peas - 1/4 of a cup of canned dice water chestnuts (optional) - 1/4 of a cup of diced up ham - 1/2 of a cup of diced up cooked chicken (I marinate ours in teriyaki sauce sometimes.. So you can do the same if desired.) - 2 tablespoons of soya sauce Directions are as follows: - Heat 2 tablespoons of oil. - Then beat the eggs with 1/2 of a teaspoon of salt & then scramble in to the oil until firm, breaking in to small pieces. Then remove from heat & reserve. - Heat the remaining oil. And add the shrimp & the remaining salt. Cool at least until the shrimp are cooked & break up the lumps out of the cold cooked rice. Then add to the shrimp. - Stir this until the rice is heated & the grains of the rice are separated. - Then make a hole in the center of the rice. - And add all of the rest of the ingredients except for the soya sauce. Stir this until it is thoroughly heated & then mixed. - Then sprinkle the soya sauce over the rice & mix evenly through. And add salt & pepper to taste. You can even garnish by adding additional shrimp if desired. Serve this yummy dish & ENJOY! "Creamy Chicken Broccoli Rice." Ingredients are as follows: - 1 can of campbell's cream of chicken & broccoli soup - 1 1/2 cups of water - 3/4 of a cup of uncooked regular long grain rice - 1/8 of a teaspoon of black pepper Directions are as follows: - In a 2 quart saucepan, combine the soups, along with the water & the black pepper over medium - high heat. - Heat this to a boiling, & then stir in the rice. Reduce the heat on stove to low, & cover this & cook for 25 - 30 minutes at least until the rice is tender & the mixture has begun to turn creamy, make sure to stir often. Serve & ENJOY this yummy rice! . .

Try substituting half the water that you cook rice in with apple juice. The natural sugars in the apple juice give it a sweet taste to satisfy your sweet tooth. It actually is pretty good. I didn't believe it until I tasted it.
