My family has lessened our mall outings. We used to go to mall once a week. Now it is only once a month..As an alternative, my wife and i decided to bring the kids to the beach twice a month. We just charge 50pesos entrance fee per vehicle. We then bring our own food and drinks.Spending the whole morning till lunch at tha beach for only 50pesos and gasoline is sure a cheap way to have fun with the whole family.

Hi lloydgene, my family decided to live frugally about 3 years back. As we need the money for our house as well as the kids (2 boys aged 3 and 5) private school education and insurance. We rarely go to the malls except if we have a need to get something or a present. Family outings on a budget for me includes cycling in the park, swimming at the public pool, picnic, visiting relatives and window shopping. We do however, splurge a little on our yearly holidays which we try to keep to a week at most. You are lucky that the gasoline in your country is cheap. Here, to fill a car that has a 2 litre tank will set you back about $100 each time.

Yup, i totally agree. We just have to live with what we can afford. I know of some families living on their credit card each month. And paying the minimum sum for the month really will not help at all. Cheers!
