Is it just whois.com for checking the origin and authenticity of any sites? / myLot

Hi all friends, in your knowledge, is it just we can use www.whois.com for checking the authenticity and origin of any sites especially about online making money sites on the internet.Do you have another source for this purpose,nd who is the owner of www.whois.com? Please share with me and another friends here.Thank you

Yes you can also use this tool called http://www.whoisxy.com/ .This used to find the whois info for the particular domain name.

I use whois.domaintools.com a lot for WHOIS Data. AllWhois.com is also Good.

Whois is a command to query a database with information on ownership and registration of sites and domainnames. On real operating systems like Unix, Linux, BSD or Mac OS X you can fire up the commandline and type whois ...... On bad operating systems like windows you simply can't ! You need to go to for example whois.net or some of the thousand other sites that offer this service.
