does accupunture gelp with menstrual cramps?

Being a male, I (thankfully) don't have any experience with menstrual cramps. I do know that I had a rather bad toothache some time ago. I was unable to get to a dentist for a couple of days. A friend took me to her acupuncturist. He put a few needles in me and voila! the toothache was gone!
