this genetic disorder is not only restricted to india but is widespread throughout the world. a thalassemic patient has to undertake regular blood transfusions in order to survive. and apart from this, he has to undergo various other manifold problems. it is not subject to any cure. prevention lies in a blood test namely HBA2 test that shud be done in ealier stages of pregnancy... hence, knowledge of dis bloody story is the only prevention...
