Pitbulls

I've heard alot lately how some states are trying to ban pit bulls! What do you all think? Are pitbulls really that bad, or is it the people to raise them bad? Personally, I don't think you should blame an entire bred of dog. I think it's the way you treat and raise a dog that makes them mean. I know some people that have pitbulls and those dogs are the most kindest, gentlest dogs I've been around. I also can see the other side of the story, too many pitbulls have attacked children, adults, and other animals. Then again, there are other animals out there that act the same way and we don't blame all of them, do we?

The states that have banned or are trying to ban the ownership of pitbulls are states that have a high rate of dog fighting. The most common breed of dog used in this illegal activity is pit bulls because they are easily trained to be vicious. I think banning people from owning them in certain areas is a good idea because it helps lower the percentage of active dog fighters. The ban meant to protect the dogs from abuse, neglect, and cruelty and is not an act designed to punish them or make them out to be bad pets.
