Cat People or Dog People

I have a cat and I think cat's think they are king of the house and you are just there to feed them, while dogs are truly there for their masters... Dogs require a lot of care and nuturing, while cats sleep most of the time and perhaps like the odd pet or scratch on their neck... What type of pet do you have...are you a dog person or a cat person or perhaps both? What do you think about the differences between cats and dogs?

I have one of each; and I think people keep both as pets for pretty much the same reason, companionship. It is just that cats don't need as much constant attention as dogs do. I had the cat first, and he was much easier to care for than a dog. He was glad when I got home and hangs out with me, but I didn't feel bad leaving the house because he is independant enough that I know he can cope without me. (plus, you don't have to set your schedule by when the dog needs to pee). The dog is also great to have a round, but is really more dependant on companionship. That is why dogs aren't great for people who aren't home much, the dogs get depressed because they are pack animals by nature. I really like having both now, but I couldn't have had a dog before when I was single, because I just wasn't home enough.
