which is the best free antivirus ?

and of course i mean freeware (not shareware) and spyware/adware free. (for windows xp) most talked of usually are -avast -avg -antivir what do you think ?

I now have norton on mine but my lawyer actually uses avg, i did have it on my old desktop and it was very good, i've now got a new laptop so decided to pay out for norton 2007

norton is not free,and imho very slow.

It's been a year since I started to use AVG, and so far, I got no virus in my computer. I like AVG very much. He has tons of functionnalities and an automatic update.

I am currently using avast and avg. I also use f-secure, kaspersky, trend micro online scanner sometime to scan my pc.
