How would you explain Your kids to stay away from smoke,drugs

Hey Folks As kids are growing how would be explain them to stay away from drugs and smoke ... as hey grow up they will be spending lots of time away from home and these attractions are always there outside ..so how will you make them strong

When my son was younger I had the discussion with him and explained to him that I had pretty much been there and done it. I explained to him the facts and simply said that while I understood he would be curious, just think for a moment before you make a mistake.
