I have to say that I am very good about getting in my eight glasses of water a day, I also think it helps to keep you more alert and awake as well. Tea is a diaoretic drink which means it promotes urination, therefore although it's a liquid made up of water it could counter the effect of hydration. Although having said that, some manufacturers discount this idea. I dont treat soda as water, simply because of the chemicals, colours and sugars in them.

Although I don't really keep a running tab (maybe I should), I think I get more than enough water per day. We have a water cooler here in the office and I must walk back and forth at least 5 times a day getting cups of water. When I get home, I drink water most of the time with meals, or the occasional juice. When I used to live with my parents, I drank even more water because they like to have water readily available and they didn't keep to much of anything else on hand to drink. I dunno if soda counts, because that has been flavored, then carbonated... but tea might. That would be something to find out... hahaha

no I definitely don't get my eight glasses in. I will be doing good if I get at least one. I usually try to buy the flavored water because I hate drinking plain water. I really don't think drinking soda is the same. I am not sure about tea, it may be considered similar. Either way you are being hydrated, but water is supposed to cleanse your body as well and I don't think soda cleanses anything.

I know I do not drink enough water. I will admit I like juice and soda. I do drink tea too, but I do not add sugar or sweetener to it. I have been very good with soda for a long time, by only allowing myself one 12-oz can per day. And now I am getting stricter with my juice intake too. I am only allowing myself one cup a day of that as well. It is hard to do! I am still very good with the soda, but sometimes I like 2 or 3 glasses of juice a day. I am trying to expand my horizons to the flavored water dimension-LOL. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I know that I don't get my full quota of water everyday. It is one of the things that I am trying to change in my diet and lifestyle. I did hear somewhere that tea does count toward water content. Soda and coffee don't though, because of the added ingredients. Soda will actually dehydrate you, because of the sodium content. Not sure why coffee isn't allowed. I don't know how true this is about tea, but I hope it is. I have a hard time drinking plain water...we are on well water and sometimes it tastes funky. I love iced tea though. Wish I could be more definitive in my answer for you.

I am ashamed to confess, but I don't drink enough water. Eight glasses... ugh. I hardly drink four-five. Perhaps, in summer, I drink as much as recommended but still not mineral water. I prefer juices and drinks like that. In Israel it's recommended to drink MUCH not only in summer when it's awfully hot, but all the year round.
