what i mean is not really the "greys" or the little green men, but any life-such as the microbes in rocks they've been arguing about for years. i was watching this show on war today, and i was thinking it'd be really sad if we're it,and we do something stupid like blow ourselves up..it'd almost be a crime against the universe,if you know what i mean..

Well, I am sure that Earth is not the only planet in the entire universe that has life on it. Other planets probably have life of some form also, from other types of microbes that may not even be able to be classified as plant or animal. I'm also certain that there may also be intelligent life out there, with civilizations much older than ours. Some actually speculate that this may very well be true from: http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/538733.aspx During the evolution of man, there was this big leap forwards in a short time. In this jump was where man was doing mathematics & engineering. The possibility that man was taught math & engineering by an advanced extraterrestrial race was brought up. This also makes me wonder if man was visited by advanced extraterrestrial races several times, causing all these different religions that seems to be what causes a lot of these wars.

People during those times seeing advanced technology in use by a stranger would probably perceive that stranger as a god.

i remember hearing a theory about that-they were speaking of the ancient egyptian gods in particular but i imagine is anything came down at that time, they would be percieved as gods. anything's possible,i suppose :)

It's easier for me to believe that there is other life then to believe that there isn't. Our human brains can't even imagine how big the universe is and to say that one little planet, orbitting a tiny sun, in one of the smaller galaxies that are out there is kind of ignorant. I know this can put a cramp on some religious people's views, however I think there may be life out there...maybe even "intelligent" life forms out there.

And intelligent enough to not want to come play our earth games like war and hatred and famine.

thechance thatthere is no other life in the galaxy is so infinetesemally small as to be not worth counting. There are billions upon billions of stars out there, and for this to be the only planet with life is rediculous.

i think you're right-it probably won't be in our lifetimes, not as slow as they're going :( but,the hubble technology is promising. they'd be fools to let that die.

I guess there could be life in inanimate objects. Recently they did find some possible evidence of ice on Mars. Maybe it was just dust. But they think that there was water there and where there's water, there's almost always life. Or, could have been life on Mars. I guess the same is true about Earth. We never know what type of intelligent life we are destroying with just ordinary household cleaning. Just because microbes aren't big doesn't mean they're not intelligent or alive.

I think there is other life. They have found earth like planets and also discovered water in diverse places around the universe. Most is still unexplored so who knows what might be out there?
