In your experience, is the myLot website frustratingly slow?

Hi all. I don't want to complain, because I am enjoying my time on myLot so far, but I am having trouble with the site moving very slowly. I am wondering if this is happening to anyone else? I have tried accessing the site on two different computers, both of which are almost brand new and have high-speed internet connections, so it doesn't make sense to me. Searching for discussions, as well as previewing and submitting are exceptionally slow. I like the site, but I have a short attention span and get frustrated easily. Sometimes I get annoyed waiting to open a discussion and just move on. Anyone else experiencing similar problems?

I think the reason for mylot being so slow nowadays is that the site has to reload itself like every second... with so many members and not as many discussions it may be struggling to update itself so quickly??? people from all over the world post here so it is like a 24 hour operation... it must get pretty hard for the site to cope... I too have experienced some slow times and other times it is really fast... those times i think when most of the community are asleep and i am still awake! lol. I know what you mean about getting annoyed for some discussions to load... whilst i wait i make myself another cup of coffee or have a smoke and when i come back it is loaded and ready for me to use as i only pick discussions i really want to reply to sometimes there is 1 in 100 that i want to so i would rather wait and reply to that one i want then move on... be happy, be patient and remember if you do decide to wait it will all be worth it when you get to write what you really want!

Thanks for the response. The high traffic that this site experiences is most likely the biggest problem. However, this means that there are a wide variety of opinions and experiences being shared on this site, which is what makes it so valuable.
Your response is great and well-thought out and I admire your general attitude towards the whole subject. Keep up the good posting:)

i dont kno how slow the site becmes on high speed internet conections..i acces mylot from a relatively medium speed internet connections...it is a bit slow but m used to the slow loading of the pages and searching for discussions
