Hey you Indian friends,After attaining independence, India was divided into various states based on the languages that is most spoken in those regions. Whereas in north India, Hindi is the major language, south India has a more diverse language structure. After so many years of independence, both segments complain about each other. On one side, north Indians complain about regionalism that exists in south India, south Indians complain about the corruption and crime that exists in the north, etc.. etc. I would like you to come forward and suggest why this discrepancy has occured and how this can be leveled. Also, suppose you are an outsider, where, north or south, would you like to settle, and why?

The Political Leaders ferment such parochialism as and when it suits to their interests. But ours is a country where Unity in diversity works. We have different regions, languages, castes, sub castes, religions, dialects and different traditions and customs each different from other region. It is tough to bring all cultures to an acceptable single norm. If you see the independent third world countries, India has sustained so much of turbulence and stood strong till now, unlike other counterparts. I will not accept that regionalism is only there in south india. did you notice the slogan " Mumbai for Marathis"? and Bihar is for Biharis? One has to live in mutual acceptence and understanding, we should make our unity features more strong and federal features little weak to grow as a strong country. If there is a chance given to me to choose, I will shoose South becasue of the reason you mentioned i.e., crime and corruption that existed in North. Pls do travel once from delhi to patna , go for market in Bangolore and Varanasi, and you will feel the difference. I hope you will agree!

thanks for your thought provoking reply dear learned friend, and I totally agree with you. But let me tell you that things like corruption and crime can be controlled, as these are created by anti-social elements. But, you will also agree that feeling neglected and seconded in one's own land is the worst feeling that a person may experience, and he is made to feel not by anti-social elements, but his own brothers just because he is from some different culture. I have myself experienced this in Thiruvanthapuram, Kerala. As far as the slogans you mentioned are concerned, these were raised by politicians for their own profits, and had no public backing.

Who says North is more corrupt? Karnataka was recently rated as the most corrupt state in the country. Only thing is that Bihar's corruption makes the news, while the corruption in the South is 'hidden' successfully. Statistically the numbers suggest otherwise. Tamil Nadu's CM regularly visits the jail, and continues to govern in that state. I also didn't understand your analogy between Delhi and Patna, as they are both in the north.

This happens even in our homes. imagine a girl from a poor background marries a man from a rich background.........what would happen. The mother-in-law will always speak ill and taunt her. They would have differences of their own, but when it comes to a outsider accusing the family, they would all stand united. So is it in INDIA. Thatz why we say, MERA BHARAT MAHAAN

Thanks for your reply dear, but don't you think that if the members of the family cooperate with each other, no outsider would ever try to accuse the family. So, setting aside all reservations, and thinking liberally, where in India would you live in India?

No two individuals can always be in goodtimes, come what may. Hope you acknowledge it.And no person whether good or bad is spared of accusations, isnt it? As of me, I always prefer South.
