What do Indians think about Americans?

What is the general attitude toward us Yanks in India? Would India be a safe place for Americans to visit or live? Would you recommend Americans to move to India or stay away?

I am from the United States and I can say that I think that there will always be problems with outsiders as well as people getting along with outsiders. I dont think that it has anything to do with where you are from just that you are not from there. I have witnessed people saying things about different races over here as well as hearing foreigners saying things about us. I guess it really all depends on the person.

You're right, of course, but there are general attitudes as well. I can't really speak for all of America, obviously, but I can say that in rural America, the general attitude towards Arabs is not good or safe. If I were an Iraqi tourist, I would not choose to visit Tennessee this year for vacation. Rural Southerners have bad attitudes about a lot of foreigners, but they are especially not fond of Arabs right now. That's kind of what I was getting at with the question. I know Americans are particularly unpopular in some parts of the world right now, and although no one can speak for their whole country, there are overarching attitudes that we can address. There will always be individuals more or less accepting of others, but there is a sense of the middle and whether it is favorable or unfavorable right now.

okay, I see what you are say. Sorry about that. I guess that you are right about this. I don't visit Mexico much unless my mom is with me because of this reason.
