just asking about the star that appears before my user name

Hello... I have been here a week and I am still groping around literally. I have noticed that each time I post a comment, a star with a number appears above my name. I don't understand what it means. What is its significance? Anyone out there who can enlighten me?

Congratulations for obtaining the star in only a week's time and this shown that you have putting much effort in mylotting.
I'm too slow in motion spending nearly 3 weeks to get the same star exactly yours i.e. pink star with number 6.
The colour of the star and the number will change accordingly when you have been given rating+ from members on your responses or discussions.
Wish you achieve the blue star with the highest rating nmber 10 within a short period.
