Narendra Modi- hero or villian

Narendra Modi - Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi
India
March 16, 2007 12:09pm CST
Hi friends, the Gujarat chief minister, Narendra Modi, is again under scrutiny. On the one hand, he is considered as a villain, who allowed Gujarat to burn during 2002 riots and thus emerged as a murderer for millions of people. But on the other hand, under his chief-ministership, Gujarat has emerged as the most prosperous state in India. What do you say about him, are the reasons for the prosperity of Gujarat not because of him, or is he really a champion of prosperity? I hope my Gujarati friends will surely answer this, as they are the best judges of the present situation.

It is not a Question of hero or villian. We should say ARE INDIANS PATRIOTIC ENOUGH to accept a HINDU as a CHIEF MINISTER. He is a hardliner and the politics dirty game has tried to malign him, but he has stood the TEST OF TIME. I have personally met him at BJP office before he became CM and he seemed to be a ARTICULATE AND SIMPLE PERSON. WHEN DELHI burnt after INDIRA GANDHI's assasination, SIKH riots took place, but whom can you blame. THERE was no PRIME MINISTER. RAJIV GANDHI took control later. IT was only the various LEADERS of a party trying to instigate their VENT Against a FEW handful of Sikhs AND mostly the RIOTING was the UNRULY MOBS who came to STEAL and do arson. They were motivated to commit theft.

Thanks for your response dear. But how can you compare the 1984 Sikh riots with the 2002 riots. You yourself have said that there was no prime minister there. He was there during those hard times, and the then commissioner of AHMEDABAD himself commented that it was his order for the police not to take action against the rioters.

when Indira Gandhi was shot by her own bodyguards, the News was out by evening, THE Lt.Governor Mr.MM WALI is the Adminstrator for DELHI and these Sikh riots were in Delhi ALONE. Also the AMRY had been called in.

why would his friends be the best judges? wouldnt his enemies have a similiar interest? I think someone who is dispassionate would be the best judge.

In my opinion after becoming the PM he has done done commendable job in improving the relations with the forgien countries. During his latest 5 nations visit has proved to be the perfect example which includes the a great speech at Capitol . And I am sure we will soon get a membership NSG with the support of Swiss and Mexico . so he is hero for India
