If you could live anywhere in Canada, where would you live?

Canada

I love living in Canada. Right now I live in Vancouver, on the west coast of the country. Vancouver is popular for the mecca of outdoor sports it provides (cycling, hiking, skiing, snowboarding, sailing, running, rock climbing, etc). And with it's mild temperatures in the winter, it is one of the warmest cities in the winter, and summertimes find temperatures just about perfect. But if I could live anywhere in Canada, I would love to live in Montreal. Why Montreal? Because I feel it is truely a world-class city. Montreal is the second biggest city in Canada, and because of this it offers great employment opportunities. Montreal is the city of festivals, and hosts more festivals in one year than there are days in a year. It is a multi-cultural city, the official languages being English and French, with a growing immigrant population from Africa, Europe and Asia. And it is a fantastic city if you enjoy shopping (like I do!) and the arts (which I do as well!) Where would you live in Canada if you had the opportunity?

You're right it is incredibly far north! But it is far enough north that for six months of the year the sun doesn't set, so you'll have non-stop sunshine for months and months. But then when the winter comes, the sun barely rises for six months. This is when it gets very cold.. and I wouldn't want to be outside mining for diamonds, no matter what the pay!

Hi! I have always wanted to visit the British Columbia area, although I've liked all of what I've seen of Canada on travel shows, etc, especially the food network! :-)

I love Vancouver and the surrounding area including Langley, New Westminster or anywhere in Southern B.C. near a large city since I am a city person. I hate snow, I hate the cold else Edmonton or Calgary, Alberta would be a second choice. Nor a multicultarism person. I get along with anybody, and I love trying new dishes, but it is because I love the food, and am interested in the conversation, not because they are of a different color or dress differently from what I am or do. I'm a person who believes people should come over here to better themselves, to flee an oppressive government or because they are being persecuted for religion or color, not so Canada can fill in so many people to fit a cultural or ethnic mandate.

I like it here already, a small town and friendly neighborhood. I wouldn't mind living in Toronto because many Asian markets there I can find my food probably, but it's too expensive, maybe later when we had money
