Is Maynard leaving or what?

I was reading in a magazine the other day that there are roomers that Maynard may leave Tool to start a solo project. Between the Solo Project and APC, we may not hear from Tool for a while or ever again. Would you buy Maynard's solo album if he made it? Have you heard about this?

Maynard is always doing his own thing. He went off to APC for awhile and we didn't hear from Tool, then we was doing something with Trent Reznor awhile back named the "Tapeworm Project" or something similar. That fell through the roof however, so then he went back to APC. We'll see what happens but don't count on another Tool album for at least another 3-4 years. He will probably go back to APC and do another album their before he does anything, however I would like to see a solo project from Maynard.

Never heard of the Tapeworm Project." Probably because it fell through the roof like you said. I agree...If we ever do get another Tool Album, it'll be at least 3-4 years....but well worth the wait...As for the comment below, I agree about the Adam Jones thing. A TOOL instrumental would also be great.

I have not hered about this! It sucks i love tool and I dont think i would listen to maynards solo, because hes nothing without the band. Well if that is true that sucks. I'll just stick to my favorite CD TOXICITY!

I'm interested in everything Maynard does... I like most of his albums... hope he gives up such gems as "Passive"!

As much as I love Maynard, he's not the only person in the band. I think people focus far too much on him, but he isn't the only one with a huge talent. Quite frankly I find Tool are perhaps past their prime (their last album was a huge disappointment to me) and they already make us wait almost 5 years on every album. If the rumours are true then I don't think we'll notice much, especially seeing how he has bounced around from project to project for so long! I'd only buy his solo album (if it does get made) if it's good. Otherwise, no.

Oh definitely agreed here. Maynard is great, but so is everyone else in that band. But then look at Adam the guitarist, I mean he just rocks. Look at Dany Carey the drummer, or Justin the bassist (not sure if justin is in the band anymore). But their is definitely a big difference between APC and Tool and it starts with Adam the other mastermind behind Tool.

There is no more APC. i have also heard the rumors that Maynard is leaving Tool. Spposedly that is what 10,000 days is about. i hope it isn't true. That would be a complete shame. i keep forgetting to ask my boyfriend. He is the biggest Tool fan i know and he always knows everything about them and Maynard in general. When i ask him, i will let you know what he says. i can even ask Adam from AFI, because he knows Maynard and AFI and i are friends.

No, I haven't heard about this! which mag. did u read this in? The rumor about tool is most of the time a false one. I don't believe Maynard will leave tool. yes, it might be very long before they release another album but i guess that's what makes tool the Tool.

he has a side project called puscifer. they've only released 2 songs, 3 if you count the remix, but he was talking about making a full cd soon.

I know Adam Jones has a great role in a lot of Tool things... I'd like they make instrumental albums.

he seems to bounce back and forth between the projects- i'm not worried about it.i'd be very surprised if he left tool permenantly.
