For quite some time now I have felt that the water pressure in my house could be better. Last week I brought a water pressure gauge home from work to check my pressure at the outside spicket. The static pressure was 45ibs. I told my neighbor about it so we checked his pressure and he had 55 ibs. Now he lives directly accross the street from me so there should'nt be a 10 Ib difference between us. I am at a loss to explain the difference, even if our curb box was partially closed It should'nt effect the static pressure any. Mabey a kink in our service line or a leaky connection the the main, I dunno. Does anybody have any other ideas?

Water pressure will drop over pipe distance and through pipe bends. Also, the type of pip can make a difference. Older cast pipe will over time get a buildup inside it which will drop pressure.
