I'm having a problem with my second PC, When I switch it on the monitor displays "No Signal" and then goes on standby. I know the computer works because I hear sound when windows boots up. I've checked the monitor cable is fully connected. Any advice would be helpful, Thanks.

The best solution to locate the problem is to connect the cpu with another working monitor,If display come then monitor is faulty, check the pins within the d-sub vga connector...if any one is broken....if ok then give the monitor for repair. If after connecting the new monitor than buy a new vga addon pci card and install it and reconnect with the monitor...if display come....then all will be fine.

Thanks for the advice, It was the display card that was faulty. I removed the faulty AGP display card, and tried an old 2mb pci display card (remember those). It worked so I have ordered a new AGP Nvidia Geforce 5500

The problem might be the graphics card, the same thing happened to me but was fixed when i swapped it over from another computer.

Thanks, I though it might be the graphics card. I can't swap the graphics card because this computer uses pcie which is not compatible with the older PC. looks like i'd have to ebay one.

I also think its the video card. I assume you are using VGA card. I had similar experience where I first thought my monitor had gone bad. but when I switched my video card from vga to onboard in bios, voila! my pc is back to working again.
