I recently started one up again and i was just wondering how many others like to take the time to write in a diary or journal? And if you do, what do you think you get out of it/how does it help you? For me, i like writing in a journal not only because I can get out all my thoughts and frustrations from the day out, i also like to look back on what i write and it helps me learn from my mistakes and helps me realize what my insecurities and emotional weak-spots are, it makes it possible for me to see things from a different perspective i suppose

I like keeping a journal. I especially like the fact that you can look back and reminisce about the past. The only thing that bugs me is that I can't do it routinely. For some reason I will have big gaps in my diary. There will be months where I haven't written. I'm just not in the mood to write like I use to. Also, I sometimes just e-mail a page or two to myself. I treat it like a journal entry. I agree that you let frustration and anger out. At least I get that out when writing. I even somtimes cry while writing, which is hard because there comes a point where the tears cover up what you are trying to write.

I have never kept any kind of diary or journal, but I've always wanted to. I think it's just that I don't feel comfortable putting things down on paper for some weird reason, I can't exactly pinpoint why either. I guess it's just not the way that I vent, I am more of a say it outloud and be done with it person. I think it'd be neat to be able to reflect on the days happenings on paper though.
