I don't have it now, but I did a long time ago. My periods came more often than normal, though, and there was a lot more than the nomal amount of bleeding when I got them -- and like you said, so painful that I could hardly stand it. I finally had a hysterectomy at the age of 26 for mine. I haven't had any problems since then, and don't regret having it at all. I had a couple of minor surgeries before that where they would remove the tissue and it would help for a month or two, but the tissue would just come back.

I spent most of my late 20's suffering from the symptoms related to endometriosis, and back then many doctors just didn't take you serious--it was constant monitoring and constant pain. I had one doctor tell me get pregnant and it will be the 'cure-all'--tried that on and off for 6 years unsuccessfully, and since I already had 2 kids, it wasn't something that weighted me down or caused me any sleepless nights. Eventually, I did turn up pregnant after my doctor said not only did I have endometriosis but scarring and fibroids as well, and it was highly unlikely that I'd ever get pregnant again. After the birth of my last child, the symptoms of endometriosis worsened, and didn't get better, the last pregnancy had prolapsed my uterus some, which only added to the pain and pressure associated with endometriosis and fibroids. So, a year after I had my last baby, I had no problem opting for a hysterectomy, which I successfully had at age 32, I'm 37 now. No regrets--and no more of the dreaded symptoms of endometriosis. The worsed pain associated with it, is when you aren't pregnant yet you feel like you are birthing your Uterus--unbelievable pressure and cramping. I had no relief with any of the pain meds they prescribed and I didn't want anything too strong that would interfere with doing my daily routines and working--it was definitely not a fun time.

I was diagnosed by chance with exploratory surgery when my ex-husband and i were trying to conceive..But my case was a 'mild one'. I do know they can remove some of the mis-placed endometrium with a laporoscopy, flush dye through the fallopian tubes to observe if they are 'open'. Medications can help -either therapeutic and/or to relieve symptoms. Severe life impacting cases of it can be totally relieved with a complete hysterectomy, but that flushes away any further hopes of having future children. Many people swear by natural relief through herbs, etc..If symptoms are severe enough, i would seek the help of a Gynecologist, when all other attempts fail. First, the diagnosis needs to be made, then a plan of action can be determined and followed through with. Also, other conditions may be the case, or be added with Endometriosis, such as failure with the pituitary gland or poly-cystic ovarian syndrome, just to name a couple..I hope you will find an answer behind your symptoms and thus find relief with any given intervention~

Have you seen a doctor lately? Might not be a bad idea you know. It does not sound healthy to be in so much pain and have that much bloating. I have not suffered from this condition and after reading this post I hope I never do.

i was told at the age of 16 i had it..the doctors kept telling me and treating me for the stomach flue for about 3 months untill i finally went and got a second opinion i went to the gyno... he did extensive test and found nothing then told me i had to have a laperscope... when they went in i had it on my bladder and uterus... they removed what they could off of my uterus then i had to have these shots in my stomach for 6 months... i thought it was all over then. they also told me that i probably would not have any children but i got pregnant with my first son at the age of 19. then they told me i wouldnt have another one well i did.. then when i was 23 u started having alot more pain and went to another gyno and she did alot of test found out that i had cervical dysplatia. i also had it back again and they tried pain therapy but it didnt work by the time i was 24 i had a total hysterectomy..i have no more pain and they say that i will never get the big "E" back again... thank god..the only thing is i really want another child and cant have one but i am very thankful for the two they said i would not have... i would see a gyno if you havent already seen one... it will pay in the end... good luck to you...

I found out that I had endometriosis about 5 years ago. In 5 years I have had 10 surgeries. I understand how you all feel. It is so painful and miserable. I had so many people telling me "oh everyone has that, it is no big deal" It use to make me mad. but I understand that everyone has it at different levels and some people don't realize that they have it until they can't get pregnant. I was one of the women who couldn't get pregnant and almost 2 years ago we adopted a beautiful little girl. I did get pregnant one time after that but lost the baby at 10 weeks. It is so hard to deal with but it is nice to know that there are people out there who understand. Good luck to all of you.
