I've lost my 10!!! That didn't take long and I'm not sure why, but....

Does posting in the 'mature' section make you a sitting duck? I didn't think my post was offensive, perhaps I'm naive. Nevermind, onward and upward as they say.

I dont think its because your posts are offensive, as far as i know, its just how people rate your posts. Some people agree with you and give you a plus, others dont agree with you or dont like you post and give you a minus, this then affects your star rating.

Thanks for cheering me up. I personally don't go near the minus button. If I don't agree with someone I let it pass and I always rate positively anyone who has answered my post, it makes me feel good too that I pass a positive to them in thanks.

No probs, other people are different, if the dont agree with something, they usually just press the -.

Awwwww (((((Tetchie))))) Big hug...Don't let it get to you. I had a 10 star too once. It lasted a day or two. I'm not really sure why I lost my either it's hard to figure. I don't think it has to do with mature content though. I'm sure you will get it back, you do start some excellent discussions. I'm not sure I want mine back, somehow I felt like I had a bulleyes painted on my back. LOL

Thanks trouble, I needed a hug today, am a bit low. I'd only ever put my had on the back of your heart, never spear you with an arrow. I'll defend you with my shield of heartness. Hugs to you too.

That's quite strange. You should get it back up again soon because you are only on 94, so as soon as you hit 95, you will get 10 again. Posting in the mature section won't put down your reputation.

It shouldn't but I guess if someone presses the minus button I'm at their mercy. Oh life is such a knife's edge isn't it!

Sometimes people see "Mature" and equate that with xxx-rated subjects and that might lead to some negative ratings. More often than not it is just someone who is lashing out because they don't like something you represent. If you make certain that your discussions and responses are the sort that could be accepted at the office party, then there really shouldn't be any problems with what you do. Some people have a habit of giving negative ratings to those with whom they disagree. Don't let that intimidate you.

You're right, I have to learn to get over rejection. Not everyone in the world is going to like what you do. Thanks SageMother.

I don't think posting in the mature section makes you a sitting duck. It might make things worse but I'm not sure. I had my 10 and lost it in a day. Haven't been able to get it back since. I don't think I post offensively and yet there is my score. I just wish people would rate as they should not because they don't like the poster. I am quite sure many people do that. Don't worry you are still a 10 with me ;)

I too dropped to nine but appear to be back up to ten again now?? I am assuming it has been because I have been offline for about a week..... Funny thing is, everything seems to offend someone somewhere! All I try to do is stay true to myself and true to my opinions and also try to be objective and tolerant in relation to others ideas and thoughts. If my rating drops significantly because of this then what the hey! Better to be naive and blissfully ignorant than to have the stability of your mental state depend on the thoughts and opinions of others I say!!
