My friend was in the hospital recently for strep. They x-rayed her lungs (this was not a problem) and told her she had thickness (?) in her lungs..think he called it cauliflower lung, not sure. Anyway, I can not find anything about this on internet yet. Anyone that has heard of this or could help me understand this condition would be so appreciated.

Thickening of the lungs can be caused by COPD or asthma, exposure to asbestos or a number of other things. Try googling "thickening lung." Something has irritated her lungs and caused them to thicken, which makes it more difficult to breathe good. Here is a link where someone wrote in to this website asking questions about something similar. I hope something I have said here will help. http://www.medhelp.org/forums/FamilyPractice/messages/148.html

never heard of it. You would have to have the right name of the condition to find it on the net. Have you tried Webmd?
