Insensitiveness of People

Neha is a ten year old polio stricken girl child (her both legs are affected and can't walk without the help of a stick). A couple of years back her father just walked away and has not yet returned. To meet the families' ends, her illiterate mother, a hard working lady, does some odd jobs that take care of Neha and her three brothers. Neha, a fun loving good natured child, goes to school perhaps because she is unable to serve a job. Whenevr I come across her, I stop for a while for a chat. Her face brightens up when I tell her that I will teach her computer if she gets good grade at school. She promises that she will try her best. The thought that enters my mind is why people especially the well of persons has become insensitive to such details when a little of their attention can bring a huge difference in the society? They enjoy giving alms but rarely see the real need that can uplift the society.
