I love the smell of campfire...

I'm not too sure why it is.. but I just love the smell of campfire when it's in the hair or on the clothes. Right now it's all I smell.. I'm sniffing the air around me and thinking.. ahhhhhh It was such a beautiful day today.. well cloudy and cold.. but we had a great time anyways. Our first fire on the riverbank of the year. We had to trudge through snow to get down to the river but it was worth it. My kids and I spent about 4 1/2 hours on the riverbank today.. just playing in the bushes and making nice size fire. I was really surprised that we were able to find enough dry wood to get a good size fire going. If I'd planned better I would have had hot dogs and the whole shebang but that'll be later this week. The kids are off school for the week for spring break. I get money on Tuesday and my daughters birthday in on Thursday so probably on Wednesday we are going to be going out for our first cookout. I'm so excited. I was beginning to think that winter would never end but I think spring has actually sprung this time. Of course, last time I said that I woke upn the next day with about 4 inches of new snow on the ground.. so I'm just gonna knock on wood and think springy thoughts! I hope you all had as great a day as I did!
