How do you folks believe the universe was created?

Might not belong in the Religion section completely, but I think it fits in here better than anywhere else.
Not necessarily how your religion thinks it was created, just your own opinion.
I think the universe has always been here, and always shall be here. Humans think of everything in such linear ways, they assume that just because we are born, live then die again that everything has to have a start and a finish. Hard to contemplate though it is, I think the universe just... exists, always has always will. Hard to explain, but you probably get my meaning.

I understand exactly what you are saying lena2000 and I agree completely...I think the universe has also always been here and always will be...realistically to think otherwise makes no sense to me really...To think that there was absolutely NOTHING then poof along comes the universe is really silly IMO....Same with thinking we are the only intelligent life in all the universe (which is considerably larger than many tend to realize or believe)....

The Big Bang theory does seem like the most feasible. The veiw of devout Christians- that the universe was created by God directly- is absurd for something so vast and detailed. These devout christians simply use god to explain anything with a logical explanation that opposes what the bible says.

this universe was created by God and it will exist for definite period of time. when God finishes its life, He destroys by the collision of sky and earth. everything thats between them is crushed and perishes.

I do not even try to give it a reason, becuase it is obviously impossible for humans to work it out. Humans seem to only belive in things they see or things that already exist, for example when aliens are being looked for, we look for particles or living things. Well this is things that live in our planet, imagine seeing something you have never seen before or can imagine, that could be an alien.
