Who should make the first move?

As a woman I feel a little strange about making the first move, and yet there's this certain guy that i really like to be with. If i initiate communication with him, will i come across as not much of a challenge? Does a woman starting contact take the "thrill of the chase" away from a guy?
Please advice me on this. thanks

If your fear is losing the chase no need to worry if all you do it initiate conversation you are just giving him a little more reason to notice you, and there is nothing wrong with gettign noticed. Perhaps he doesn't know how to approach you and this will give reason to start the chase.
