I bought into the propaganda all along

Back in the early nineties i led a party of school history students to Moscow. I was really excited to go, i had studied Russian and Soviet History, i love travel and was fascinated to see this city. What we all saw amazed us all. I had grown up watching the grey, robotlike world of the dark communist capital on television and somehow expected it to be the same. I was totally overwhelmed by the colour and vibrancy of the city and it's inhabitants, and slightly ashamed that i had clearly taken in a propaganda image while at the same time thinking myself far too smart to ever do this. Stay alert, believe what you see for yourself.
