I was wondering can you let dogs get carrots and califlower and so on? My chi. mix made a mad dash for my daughters bowl of these things when she dropped it, and he eat almost everything before she could pick it up.I was hopeing it wont hurt him.I was thinking, there is dog foods with veggies made into them right?....

My vet said to feed the overweight dog green beans and other veggies instead of a high fat treat. Also some fruit is ok - but not grapes. Dogs are omnivores like us and eat a variety of things. Here's an article, 'Ten Foods Your Dog Should Never Eat'- http://ezinearticles.com/?Ten-Foods-Your-Dog-Should-Never-Eat&id=473386

My friend has two little dogs that love carrots. She keeps bags of those baby carrots in her refrigerator and during the day at different times, she will say, "okay girls, would you like a carrot? They rush away from whatever they are doing and dash to the refrigeration just shaking all over from excitement waiting for her to open it and get them each a tiny carrot. They must be healthy because she has done this for a number of years and the dogs look great.
