What do you think? Is choice or freewill merely an illusion? Do we have complete freewill? Limited Freewill? No freewill at all?

We have complete free will but freedom comes with responsibility. You are responsible for your choice and actions. If you do something morally unacceptable than you would have to pay for it. Now some people say they should have complete freedom but then it can be very dangerous for the society and mankind as whole.

If we have free will, how would we know? If we didn't, how would we know? This is an unknowable and unprovable question. My belief is that we exist explicitly within the physical plane, meaning matter and energy comprise us, with no "spiritual" aspect present. Within this framework, it can be argued that the physical structures in our brains interacting with the outside world and other physical structures in our bodies encompass the whole of causal forces. Quantum mechanics may certainly play a role as well, but even then you've got a probabilistic influence. It's not chance, random, or influenced by anything other than natural laws of physics, etc. I wrote further on my views in this article: http://www.helium.com/tm/157134 Draven the Respectful Atheist http://dravenwriter.blogspot.com

Free will is a gift to mankind. That's why choices abound. But it is up to us to use our free will at our own risk. because others have free will too...

Yes I believe in freewill ... We are who we are because of the choices we made ... and also because of the choices our parents made ... I believe that if we could go back in time and change only even a tiny little detail it would change our future I think everyday we are faced with tons of decisions to make ... what's for breafast today ? Blue or green shirt ? ... I tend to think that things come to us and we make it our destiny : for instance, will I move to Montana to get my promotion ? Will I marry him ? etc ... I don't think things are set and that you were destined to marry that person ... maybe you were destined to meet him/her, but you been the one to CHOOSE to get married ... don't you think ? What are your views on freewill Kentenathien?
