I write poetry and love to read it. But I don't think it is read as much as in the old days. Do you read poetry? And if you do, who's your favorite poet? I don't think I really can say I have a favorite because I've enjoyed everyone I read. One of my favorites though, is Langston Hughes.

I definitely still read poetry. My longstanding favorite poet is Charles Bukowski, and my favorite collection of his is "Love is a Dog from Hell." I'm also a fan of the beat poets, Etheridge Knight and some of the other African-American poets.

Anything oldschool would have to be Poe..And i like some 'newer' stuff, such as Karen Finley's "Shock Treatment"..

I seldom read poetry on my own. It usually tends to turn me off. Still, when in school, I had to memorize poems of great interest. I still remember some of the poems, especially by Robert Frost and Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. Those tend to be my favorites, not counting the poems which have become hymns of the church.
