if you believe that prayer is a powerful tool, i do respect that, and i find that it is. if you combine prayer and action, it's even more effective. just like in serving the poor, it has to be both. working for the poor sets an example that actions can be done to overcome difficulties in life. prayer alone, in the eyes of the poor, does not immediately fill their stomach or provide roof on their heads. when we pray, we hope. when we work for it, it's already the manifestation of hope that we have prayed for. :)

Do ur duty god will do the rest is what i believe..So work or serve for the poor...god inturn will help u and fetch u the good result for what u work... So working hands will help the poor rather than praying lips i beleive.. praying alone will not fill the hungry stomach or a diseased one...

Praying to god will fulfill your needs only if you work for that.If you only pray to got you wont achieve anything,so you should work for that. It is very rare to find peoples who are working for poor like mother teresa etc... These peoples should be service motivated, they should not try to make money from that, because nowadays it has become a trend. Not a single person can fulfill the needs of poor people,we should work together to achieve it.I hope u will..............

I believe in doing both. Prayer definitely works but sometimes you have to do your duty and help the poor too. I personally don't always feel okay with myself just to sit back and pray and not do my part and help out. We can't expect the Lord to do it all, even though of course he can, he's God, but sometimes we have to meet him halfway.

Huh?? That's a little much to say there's not a God if he doesn't pass the exam. You can't go through life just because there's a powerful God who answers prayers, expecting him to do all the work like I said before and not do your part. That's just commen sense that your friend will not pass the test if he didn't study. Not because God didn't pass him. God's not a God either that does absolutely everything for us while we just sit on our butts and think if we pray it's all gonna be peaches n' cream for us.

Another response to your question, I read it a little different the first time, but you said, if he passes will you still believe in God. Of course I will, I will always believe in God. Now if he doesn't you say, you will say there is not God. If he passes, than I think he did because it was by coincodence or he might have already knew some of the answers to the test before. But anways, that's my answer.

Thats right....praying and sitting back relaxed will not work as u said......doing the duty and sitting back relaxed without prayer might work....but without working and praying will not work..thats not nature.. One of my friend did not study for the exams but he says God is there for me to help me in passing the exams....If he pass then will u beleieve god...I will say there is no God if he passes..Thats not the moral....... what do u say???
