When People Do Not Say "Thank You"

Don't you hate it when you do something for other strangers that sometimes they don't say "thank you"? For example, I always hold the doors for strangers when entering/exiting the shopping center, restrooms, malls, restaurants and other facilities. Most of them do say "thank you" but there are some of them without manners. There have been several times when I held the door for someone and when they didn't say thank you, I said outloud "You're Welcome!" and some of them do get it and end up saying "thank you" afterwards. But sometimes they are oblivious and keep on moving. *sighs* What are your opinions on this?

There will always be those that fail in the common courtesy category. Sometimes it is not because they are outwardly rude but because they are busy and not on the same level as you. Sometimes a smile or a nod can be construed as a thank you and I find it acceptable. It this fast paced society it is hard to keep focused on things like common courtesy but everyone needs to make a conscious effort to do so.

Yeah.. it annoys me too when people forget their manners somewhere, or if they have any at all.. Actually, having good manners is one of the things I look for at people.. I wouldnt want to be friends or even acquainted with anybody who doesnt have manners.. Even my 19-month-old daughter knows how to say thank you when I give her something or whenever I do something for her.. and it's sooo cute..
