Why are discussions wid discription rated as top discussions of the day???

Ive been on mylot for almost 2 weeks and ive always noticed that the dicsussions which have a very clear picture and a very sharp view of the particular event are rated on the site as the top discussions?though some are meaning less theyre descripition grants them points to go to the top why does this happen?? Do u notice this??? i always asked this question myslelf now im asking u!
