Cable television - your channels?

Cable tv seems to be available as 'Basic cable'(maybe 13 channels), 'Expanded Cable' (what I have, 78ish channels but no premiums like HBO), and whatever is above that Super Duper Cable? haha I'm not sure how far out of the US these channels go, but I wondered which ones were common to most cable systems. For example, if someone in Californis tells me to watch a movie on Lifetime I can, but if he says Style, I don't get that one (I would like to get that one tho). Of course if you have one of those services with 5 million channels you probably get everything. lol! So what do you get that might be what everybody gets - or not. Hope that makes sense. Here's some of what I get I think are common... ESPN 1&2, TBS, TNT, Nick, Discovery, History Channel, Home & Garden, Animal Planet, Sci-Fi, A&E, USA, Hallmark, FX, MTV, CMTV, C-SPAN 1&2, HSN, BET, AMC, CNN/FOX/MSNBC news.

i told you i would find your discussion with no responses. I think we have like 100+ chanels. No movie chanels like HBO,Showtime etc. just the general chanels. Granted we also have a HD tv, so we do have the HD cable chanels, like the local tv chanels,discovery,pbs and the ones that broadcast in high def. we get. We get most of the ones you do, all the music with MTV,VH1,all the sports, the hisory,discovery, of course animal planet,comedy chanel, the news chanels. i think pretty much the same as what you have.

Oh My Gosh!! A reply! lol! I live in a smallish town in North Carolina probably get way fewer channels than other people across the USA and the world. We used to have WE (Woman's Entertainment) but my company seems to have dropped it and not put anything in it's place. Or maybe the channel went out of business. I don't know. But I'd gladly sacrifice the Golf Channel for something else. haha

lol lol you dropped the hint in my discussion so i answered. Golf chanel is ok. I like watching Tiger play golf.
