Draco's Hand of Glory

Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but in Chamber of Secrets, doesn't Draco look at the hand of Glory, and when the owner of Borgin and Burke sees him looking at it, Lucius says something about how he hopes his son will amount to more than just a thief or plunderer. And then, all of a sudden, in Half-Blood Prince, he actually owns the Hand of Glory, and it's widely known he has one? Does this not seem like a mistake to anyone else?

You make an interesting point. I don't even remember in HBP about him owning the hand of glory. That's kind of strange to me actually that he suddenly has one but we see nothing of this happening. Interesting.

the thing is, it wouldn't have been that big of a deal if it hadn't been made to seem like he's had it for a long time, and they all knew about it. How did they all know about it when it hadn't been mentioned once before about him having it, only about him looking at one, and being chastised for even considering it.

first of all i did not read in any of the books that its a widely known fact that draco has a hand of glory. he first sees it in borgin and burkes in 2nd part. and must have brought it when he seeks borgins help to repair the cupboard in the 7th book. and his dad is in azkaban at that time so he cannot prevent him from buying it.

he didn't buy anything when he went there that time, or it would have been mentioned. And Ron, Harry, and Hermione all seem to know that he has one.

Hi accioetoile... You got to belive Me!!!!!! I'hve just finnished the HBP and only doubt in my mind is that Hand of Glory known wildly! Let me be very precise... In Chambers of Secrets, from burrow when Harry leaves for the Leaky Cauldron, by using floo powder for the frst time, He accidently lands to Knocturn Alley and in tht brukes shop. Here Draco shows intrest in that arm, so only Harry knows about it! Isnt it? Ok Frm that, in all succesive book their is no mention of any such thing, isnt it? Only Harry knows it! He may have shared it with Ron and Hermionee. Now in HBP, I think Ron says it that 'remember that ?' in mentioning about torch which gives light only to its holder! Isnt it? So this is the story, what do u think? Is it a mistake? or we lack some thing?
