My kid's 9 yrs.old and she's having her summer vacation.I need some better ideas that she could do at home rather than watching tv all day,I'm not on the good teacher daughter side,I'm more on the goodtime side so I need some better things that I could ask my daughter to do...

Hi! Mybe you could get her to do some crafts at home. Like a photo frame made out of old cardboard boxes to give away to her best friends. You may want to vist these websites: www.indianchild.com, www.creativekidsathome.com, www.enchantedlearning.com/crafts. You can also bake and cook simple dishes together to serve for the whole family. www.praririeorchid.com, to name a few. You could also do exercises together to encourage bonding. Gardening is also another possibilities. Let her choose the plant that she wants to grow and let her look after it.... Good Luck!!

Get her interested in reading!! This is not a school thing, ask her what SHE wants to know, and then get her books and websites about that. Take her to the library, and allow her to pick out anything she wants to read and learn about, and also music and movies, if your library offers that.

How about doing crafts or playing board games together. Or maybe going to the park and playing outdoor games

Kudos to you for wanting to do better than just let your daughter veg' out on the couch in front of the tv. If you can spend time with her then I recommend lots of fun field trips to nature spots, and educational tours, as well as just going out to sporting events for entertainment. You can go biking, hiking, running or walking which is always fun and good exercise. There may be local 5k events you can try training for and then running in. You can also try finding engaging volunteer activities that allow kids' participation to teach her social responsibility. If you are a church goer, or even if not, but if you are a member of a church, you may find they have activities that you can enroll her in. I am not an expert on this topic, but I am sure you will be able to find some websites with recommendations of activities you can suggest to your daughter that will stimulate her mind as well as entertain her so that she doesn't even realise she is learning while having fun. All the best in your quest! Be blessed!
