someone started a discussion on foods they found disgusting. Now there is very few that i really dislike, like lima beans, brussel sprouts to name a couple. Main reason is they taste very gross. I also like a few things that a lot of people think are disgusting like oysters (raw), caviar. Now what do you not like and why? Is it the taste, the texture or just the thought?

I have very few foods that I don't like. Most of what other people have on their lists I actually enjoy - liver, lima beans, brussel sprouts. I try new foods regularly. The few that I have come across that I don't like are 1. Calamari (I think I've had badly prepared calamari as it seemed very rubbery) 2. Oysters (Why should I have a food that requires me to just swallow it???) 3. Lamb (Again it's probably because it was badly prepared as I have had lamb I actually enjoyed on two occasions from the same place, otherwise it's game/wild taste that I don't like) 4. Escargot (Although I've never had worms I find escargot to taste like what I think worms would taste like. I guess it must be the feel that I just didn't like. Even the butter couldn't make it palatable.)

My list of 'yucks' include--brussel sprouts, oysters, sardines, lima beans, butter beans, potted meat, deviled ham, greens (kale, mustard, collard), calamari. I just don't like the taste. I teach my kids that you can't say 'yuck' to something unless you have at least tried and tasted it. And I have tried and tasted all of these foods and still think they are yuck LOL
