I just made an apple pie for my hubby tonight. But,instead of raisins, I added blueberries with the apples. It was outrageous! Excellent! So, give it a try, you will be pleasantly surprised. I used frozen ones.

That sounds like a good idea. I do have a killer apple pie recipe. This will make a good variation for an old time favorite of mine. I must top it off with vanilla ice cream though!

I have never tried blueberries in a apple pie. I have used cranberries and others fruit, but not that one. I should give it a try. 14 medium red potatoes (about 4 pounds) 1/4 cup olive oil 2 teaspoons dried dill 2 teaspoons dried thyme Kosher salt to taste Freshly course-ground black pepper to taste Preheat grill or grill pan. Working in batches, cut potatoes into 1/8-inch thick rounds and in a large bowl toss with oil, dill, thyme, and salt and pepper to taste. Grill potato rounds in batches over moderate heat, turning them occasionally, until tender, about 10 minutes, and transfer them to another large bowl. Alternatively, roast potatoes in a 450 degree oven: Arrange half of oiled potatoes, lightly overlapping, in 2 large shallow baking pans and roast in upper and lower thirds of oven, turning them occasionally, until golden and tender, about 15 minutes. Roast remaining potatoes in the same manner

You can use cheater crust, cheater canned apple pie filling, and frozen blueberrys. Add lots of sugar, and 2 tablespoons of flour, and that's it. Read the can directions. You can do it.

Hi Margie. That sounds really good. I make apple pie and I guess I never thought of adding something like that into the pie. My hubby loves blueberries. It would be a nice little change of pace from the same old standard. I bet you could use all kinds of things besides blueberries. I'll have to experiment.

YUM! That sounds so good! I don't usually add raisins, but i have made apple/cherry or apple/cranberry pies. I like that little bit of tart that the extras add to those sweet apples! Thank you for giving me another dimension to one of my favorite desserts! :)

Once again I don't bake but I will pass it on to my young daughter who is the baker in the house. She is an excellent cook. I save every receipe in a folder for us to browse through.

As apple pie is my favorite desert (along with ice cream) and frozen blueberries are always in freezer I shall try this. Thanks again

that does sound interesting. I've never actually had raisins in my apple pie to begin with, though.

Raisins are good, but blue berrys are better. You must try it.
