ive had my dog for a year now and hes pretty good about peeing on potty pads in the house and he pees outside when i take him... but, my question is, ive seen many dogs go to the door and beg when they're ready to go potty. My dog will not do that. does anyone have some good advice on effective potty training methods?

1st thing, you need to block off certain places in the house where the dog might go to the bathroom. I had to do that with my dog, because Daisy would always try and run down to one room of the house. 2nd, you need to get your dog on some sort of schedule when they are going outside. We let Daisy out every couple hours. Next, we had to crate train her a bit when she would go to the bathroom in the house. This helped as it taught her that she can go outside whenever she wants, but never in the house. Last but not least, you need to praise her everytime that she comes back in from going to the bathroom. Play with her, pet her, and give her treats.
