Property is the most traditional of asset class... So is our home an asset?

Actually, now a days, owning a house has become a bib asset. IN UK, People like to purchase a house on bank loans and slowly clear the loan. It is found this approach has been found to be more profitable than paying rent in a rented house.The cost of Land and immovable assets are going up day by day. The value of money is going down; Hence it is profitable, if we purchase a house on bank loan.

This is interesting, and true to a certain extent! In Singapore, home loans from banks are averaging about 3.5 - 4.0% today. However, property prices are improving with the recent boom in property market, so the capital gains could be as much as 10% or much more. However, property market can come falling down too right? And I do not know when I will need to sell it off...
