For my usual, ialways have Johnie Walker Black, 3 finger poured into a short glass over 3 ice cubes, it contains a blend of the best of all malts yieldings a 12 yo that has a slighty smokey aroma and beautiful amber colour, The taste is slighty sweet , mild wood and peat flavour and a nutty finish. Inever for single malts , i prefer the 18 yo Balveine, a rather husky malt well defined for its smoke and slight peat to the nose. The taste is silghty heavy and has a slight bite. so sip it. overall, it sits well on the palate , is sweeter than other single malts, but that warming effect only a peat smoked whisky delivers.
