Hi My name is Debra, my brother was in an accident last year and his spinal cord was damaged, not severed, but it left him without movement from the chest down. He has really bad stomache pains. I have heard that where Christopher Reeves was in the hospital, that there was some doctors there that was helping patients with complete severed spinal cords, to gain mobility as far as walking again with the help of a walker, and one with crutches, This was a story I received from a man on the internet who was talking about his nephew, although he thought the hospital was in Boston, Mass, he was trying to get me more info, but its been a month and I havn't heard anything. If anyone knows any info to help me so I can help my brother, I would appreciate it, he's 36 years old with a wife and family. Thank you, Debra

Hello Debra: There has been recently on tv some clips about new findings and inventions for helping people with spinal chord injuries. One was about electronically with computer control firing off the muscles needed for walking. The other had to do with donn't remember the animal, it proved that even when severed the spinal chord still functioned. Almost like each section had a brain of its own. Try doing searches with different words added, subtracted, rearranged and mix and match. Usually sites have links for more information. vpbanjo dogllar.com

Hi Debra. I am so sorry to hear this. Start out by doing a search on the web of Christopher Reeves. I am sure that you will be able to get some information this way. Good luck to you with the search and to your brother with gaining some mobility.
