Anyone have any good cardiovascualar work-out idea's? I have high blood pressure and my dr. want's me to go to a gym or do some serious cardiovascular workout's. I'm not heavy but my blood pressure is high, I'm on meds to get it lower. I feel so much more comfortable working out in the privacy of my own home. Thanks everyone!!

Be careful of that medicine. Be watched carefully. Eat oatmeal and do yoga. Add in walking and you will improve. Yoga can be intense and you would be amazed if you stick with it your body will respond and I bet your blood pressure would vastly improve. That is my suggest and I hope you give it try and those medicines do not end up damaging you in any way.

I'm on HCTZ & lipitor. I've heard stuff about lipitor that it can damage your muscles and liver possibly. I think hctz is only a water pill and I don't think that can really do anything. The lipitor scares me though. I don't like being on meds.

Fast walking around the neighborhood, jogging, lifting little weights at home, jumping rope.. those are things you can do at work that are cardio workouts.

Thanks for your advice! I used to workout all the time and I think I'm going to start it back up again!

I would suggest if you want a good cardiovascular workout and something you can do at home The Turbo Jam dvd. The moves are easy to follow about the only thing you may need besides the video is a set of two or three pound weights but other than that you are good to go.
