I read some fable about a cat turned into a pretty lady. She implored Venus to make her a beautiful damsel so she can have the handsome young man. Soon enough she became a beautiful girl and the youth instantly fell in love with her and brought her home to be his bride. The thing is, Venus wanted to know if the Cat has already kicked the habit of chasing mice. While the Cat was sitting in the dining room with her groom-to-be, she saw a mouse playing in a corner. She couldn't control herself and chased the mouse around the house, all furniture knocked over one after another. Venus was sad. She transformed the beautiful girl back to her old self. Do you believe that you can't make a silk purse from a sow's ear? I mean, a poor girl even when she's changed her social status will always be the same poor girl with her poor manners and attitude?

manners and attitude imbedded in our minds in our lifetimes cannot be changed overnight because of fame and fortune that he/she luckily acquired like winning a lotto jackpot. for further reference please read the book of mark twain on the prince and pauper and about a black kid born a slave and swtiched with white kid and grew up to be white...

i read the prince and the pauper. THey're just two children. They are flexible and can be taught to do things properly. Whereas the adults keep doing the same things despite fame and fortune, which I think is good.

And what is wrong with a poor person not taking on the attitude of the snobbishly rich? It happens all too often the way it is.

I totally agree it as they say you can take a gator to of the swamp but you can't take the swamp out of the gator I must say that we do try and wish sometimes to change people that from hat they really are I guess its best to just accept who you are and accept who others are

I think reality is not reflective of the story and I also believe that everybody can change. How many stories have we heard about a poor person becoming a success in life? Manners and attitude could always be changed and improved over time. They even have a school for that I think wherein one could learn social skills. Humans are basic in nature and we call ourselves human and not animals because reason rules over our basic instincts and desires. Though there are many humans who succombs to their basier nature but there would still come a time that they would try or exert effort to discipline themselves. So my friend, we could still make a silk purse from a sow's ear...and science or technology may be the answer to that. Bottomline, if there is a will there is always a way... if there is a will to change, one could always change.

I think that the kind of person who we are now depends from our past.!Yes you have to leave back your past, but but you have not to forget it because remebering it you can feel how lucky you are now. A poor girl can change her life begining a rich girl, but i think the inside ourslef we have to try to be always the same people.
