I'm taller when i wake up

I do deep breathing exercises every morning. I heard that if you try to hold your breath for at least a minute and then release it it helps you to relax and greatly improves on's concentration. I tried doing this. Did it a couple of times. By the fifth time i was struggling with holding it for a minute and when i started breathing out, I began to feel as if i was going to black out. I was normal within 10 secs but my heart was beating very fast. I am wondering whether i should discontinue with this meditation and consult a specialist on how to do it properly. Your suggestions please?
